Quality Improvement Programme

The Government of India launched the Quality Improvement Programme in the year 1970. One of the main objectives of the program is to upgrade the expertise and capabilities of the faculty members of the degree level institutions in the country.

Objective

♦ Providing opportunities to faculty members of the degree-level engineering institutions to improve their qualification by offering admissions to Master’s and Ph.D. degree Program

♦  Organizing Short Term Courses at the Major QIP Centers for serving teachers.

♦  Curriculum Development (CD) Cell activities which help to improve class room teaching and learning.

Coimbatore Institute of Technology is one of the AICTE – QIP institutes. CIT offers Ph.D degree programmes in the Engineering disciplines of Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics and Chemical. Also it sponsors short term courses for faculty members of AICTE institutions.
