Five-Year Integrated M.Sc. Programmes
The Department of Computing offers an accelerated academic route that allows students to move seamlessly from higher secondary education to a masterβs degree. These five-year integrated M.Sc. programmes are structured to provide continuous learning, enabling students to develop strong conceptual depth and advanced technical expertise in key areas of modern computing.
Specializations Offered
Students may choose from the following integrated M.Sc. programmes, each with an approved intake of 60 seats:
M.Sc. Data Science : Emphasizes data analysis, modeling, and interpretation to support informed decision-making across industries.
M.Sc. Decision and Computing Sciences : world class software engineers, data scientists and decision makers with prudence of pioneering the solutions to the challenges of the nation and the world.
M.Sc. Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning: Concentrates on intelligent systems capable of learning, reasoning, and autonomous decision-making.
Eligibility Criteria : M.Sc. - SS / DS / AIML
- A pass in HSC (or equivalent) examination with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry as subjects is required.
- Candidates (other than SC/ST) must have a minimum aggregate of 75% in Mathematics + Physics + (Chemistry or Computer Science)
Note : This does not mean 75% in each subject individually. The requirement is based on the total combined marks.
(For example, out of 300 marks (100 per subject), a minimum of 225 marks in total is required to be eligible)
Eligibility Criteria : M.Sc. - DCS
- A pass in HSC (or equivalent) examination with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry as subjects is required.
- Candidates (other than SC/ST) must have a minimum aggregate of 75% in Mathematics + Physics + (Chemistry or Computer Science)
(OR)
- A Pass in HSC / equivalent exam with one subject from Category A and two subjects from Category B as the subjects of study.
CATEGORY A β Mathematics / Applied Mathematics / Statistics / Business Mathematics / Business Mathematics & Statistics.
CATEGORY B β Commerce / Economics / Accountancy / Computer Science.
- However, Candidates (other than SC/ST) with an aggregate of 75% and above in the three subjects in total, one from Category A and two from Category B only need to apply.
Admission Process
- Selection is based on a two-stage evaluation designed to identify students with both academic strength and problem-solving ability:
- Higher Secondary Examination Performance: Marks obtained in the qualifying board examination are considered.
- Institute-Level Entrance Examination: Eligible candidates must appear for an internal entrance test conducted by the institute.
Note: The examination center is located only in Coimbatore.
