Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was started in the year 1968.   Currently the department offers undergraduate – B.E Electronics and Communication Engineering (Full time), post graduate – M.E Communication Engineering (Full Time and Part Time) and research (Full Time and Part Time) programmes. The UG programme has sanctioned strength of 120 students with under both government aided and self-supporting streams. PG programmes is under self-supporting scheme. The department has dynamic and vibrant faculty specialized in various fields of Electronics and Communication Engineering with proven research experience in niche areas. The department has produced 20 doctorates in the area of Signal processing, Wireless Communication, Networking, Wireless sensor Networks, Image processing, VLSI Design and Embedded systems. The faculty members of the department have undertaken innovative projects from leading agencies such as AICTE, UGC, DST.

The Curriculum is continuously updated based on Choice based Credit System with the objective of meeting the current needs of the industry and society. The curriculum ensures that strong foundation in the core domain is laid in the students, paving the way for employment in prestigious multi-national companies and organizations in Core sector and in diversified fields. The laboratories are equipped with state-of- the-art equipment. The practical courses deliver hands-on experience to students based on the changing needs of society. The department prides in providing well balanced tutor-ward relationship, active alumni network, excellent placement opportunities to the students and consultancy to the leading industries.

PEO 1 : The graduates will exhibit knowledge in Mathematics, Engineering fundamentals, Electronics and Communication Engineering and related fields for professional achievement in industry and organizations

PEO 2 : The graduates will be able to identify, analyze and apply engineering concepts for design of Electronics and Communication Systems and demonstrate multidisciplinary expertise to meet contemporary requirements.

The following Programme Educational Objectives are designed for M.E. Communication Engineering programme in Electronics and Communication Engineering based on the Department Mission to provide higher engineering education and motivate research in the field of Communication Engineering.

PEO 1 : To develop outstanding technical and professional expertise that enables the students to develop  competency for career in global industrial, academic and research domains.

PEO 2 : To develop communication skills, interpersonal skills, managerial skills, entrepreneurial skills and inculcate professional ethics and values needed for professional success in national and multinational companies, institutions and organizations.

PEO 3 : To explore engineering solutions with good ethical standards and professional attitude for significant research in solving contemporary social and human issues within realistic constraints and acquire an aptitude for lifelong learning.
