Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope Laboratory was inaugurated by our Correspondent Dr.S.R.K.Prasad on Friday, 1st August 2014. He dedicated the FESEM – (SIGMA HV – Carl Zeiss With Bruker Quantax 200 – Z10 EDS Detector) funded by TEQIP – Phase II for carrying out research and consultancy in Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Biology, Chemistry and Physics to observe structures that may be as small as 1 nanometer (= billion of a millimeter) for morphological, chemical and analytical study of materials. Centre of Excellence in Manufacturing Sciences


In the competition of “Establishing a Centre of Excellence for training & research in manufacturing sciences by incorporating Rapid prototyping and Rapid manufacturing technologies” within India, Ministry of Human Resource and Development identified CIT as the one and only potential institute across India. The five year project is proposed for Rs 9.32 Crores and has been initiated with an initial funding of Rs 1 crore. This centre is to be a 30 member team working on healthcare and manufacturing engineering arena.
