Department of Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics was established in the year 1956, the year of establishment of the Institute. The department caters to the mathematical needs of the institute namely, it offers course for all the UG, PG and research programs, in the field of mathematics, science and humanities. The department holds research program leading to Ph.D in Mathematical Sciences, Engineering Sciences and Applied Sciences. It has conduct three international conferences during 1971,1981 and 2014. The department completed one UGC funded research project. The research activities of the Mathematics department span a wide range of deep and fundamental areas like topology, fuzzy sets and continuous function, data mining, cloud computing, web mining, privacy preservalign in data mining, applied mathematics, fluid dynamics, control theory, mathematical epidemiology, distance concepts in graphs, optimal control theory, ethonomathematics, queuing theory, fuzzy logic, optimization technique, etc. The department has completed two UGC sponsored projects and one NBHM sponsored research project. Totally 27 scholars are completed Ph.D. degree. At present 9 scholar’s pursing their research under the guidance of our faculty members.

The department is now being headed by Dr.N.Nagaveni and 16 other faculties associated with the department.
