Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was started in the year 1968.   Currently the department offers undergraduate – B.E Electronics and Communication Engineering (Full time), two post graduate – M.E Communication Engineering, M.E VLSI Design (Full Time and Part Time) and research (Full Time and Part Time) programmes. The UG programme has sanctioned strength of 120 students with under both government aided and self-supporting streams. Both the PG programmes are self-supporting. The department has dynamic and vibrant faculty specialized in various fields of Electronics and Communication Engineering with proven research experience in niche areas. The department has produced 15 doctorates in the area of Signal processing, Wireless Communication, VLSI Design and Embedded systems. The faculty members of the department have undertaken innovative projects from leading agencies such as AICTE, UGC, DST.

The Curriculum is continuously updated based on Choice based Credit System with the objective of meeting the current needs of the industry and society. The curriculum ensures that strong foundation in the core domain is laid in the students, paving the way for employment in prestigious multi-national companies and organizations in Core sector and in diversified fields. The laboratories are equipped with state-of- the-art equipment. The practical courses deliver hands-on experience to students based on the changing needs of society. The department prides in providing well balanced tutor-ward relationship, active alumni network, excellent placement opportunities to the students and consultancy to the leading industries.
