“Hands on Training in QualNet for Simulation of
Wireless Networks”

The one day workshop on “Hands on Training in QualNet
for Simulation of Wireless Networks” was conducted
by the Department of Electronics and Communication
jointly with Applied Digital MicroLogics India (P)
Ltd, Coimbatore during 12th of August,
2011.

The Inaugural function of this workshop was held on 12th
August 2011 in the Library block A/C Conference Hall
at 9.15 a.m. Principal and Patron Dr. V. Selladurai was
the chief guest of the function. Dr.
S.
Shanmugam Administrative Officer, CIT presided over the function. Dr.
A. Rajeswari, Associate Professor, Head ECE Department
welcomed the gathering. Mrs. I.S. Akila, Assistant
Professor gave an overview of the workshop and also
presented the vote of thanks.
The scope of this workshop is to explore the concepts
and working of Wireless Networking software – QulaNet.
QualNet Developer is
ultra high-fidelity network evaluation software that
predicts wireless, wired and mixed-platform network and
networking device performance. Designed to take full
advantage of the multi-threading capabilities of
multi-core 64-bit processors, QualNet supports
simulation of thousands of network nodes. QualNet is
designed to link seamlessly with modeling/simulation
applications and live networks.
The key focus of this
workshop is to provide hands on training in QualNet
Software.
Seventy Six academicians from various institutions
participated in the workshop and the staff members of
ECE department, CIT gave active participation and had
an excellent learning experience with hands-on
training.
The workshop ended with a closing note by the experts
from Applied DigitalMicroLogics India (P) Ltd ,
Coimbatore, along with distribution of certificate.
