19^th and 20^th March 2010

 ORGANIZED BY DEPARTMENT OF ECE AND IIPC

COIMBATORE INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, COIMBATORE-14 

            The workshop was successfully inaugurated by the chief guest Dr.K.Francis Jacob, DGM (planning), BSNL, and Coimbatore on 19th March, 2010. About 75 participants from engineering colleges in around Coimbatore, 5 final year students of CIT registered and attended the workshop.

            The Speaker for the morning session on 19^th March, 2010 was Dr.K.Francis Jacob, DGM (planning), BSNL on topic “Keynote Address on Next Generation Mobile Networks”. The speaker for the next session on 19^th march, 2010 was Mr.Gireesan, Research scholar IIT Madras, Chennai on topic “Wireless Sensor Networks: Research Perspective”. The Speaker for the afternoon session on 19^th march, 2010 was Mr.V.Anantha narayanan Asst. Professor / CSE Amrita University Coimbatore on topic “Hands on training in performance evaluation and modeling of wireless Networks using NS2. 

             The Speaker for the morning first session on 20^th march, 2010 was Mr.JoshuaFreeman Scientist, Amrita’s Indo-European Research Center for Wireless Networks, Amrita University, Amritapuri on topic “QoS management and Routing in MANETs and WSNs”. The Speaker for the morning second session on 20^th march, 2010 was Mr. K P Peeyush, Amrita Research Lab “Implementation of Wireless Sensor Networks using Motes Tiny OS and nesC”. The Speaker for the afternoon session on 20^th  march, 2010 was Mr.V.Anantha narayanan Asst. Professor / CSE  Amrita University Coimbatore and  Mr. Sajaan Kumar Faculty  Member TIFAC-CORE Centre for CYBER SECURITY Amrita University on topic “Hands-on Training in Simulation of  Wireless Networks using NS2”.           

The workshop ended with the valedictory function with chief guest Dr.T.R.Padamanabhan, Professor Emeritus, Chairman IETE Coimbatore Centre.
