Two Day Workshop on

Distributed Service Model

3^rd – 4^th September 2010

(CIT Research Promotion Programme)

             The workshop was organized by the Department of Computer Technology & Applications of Coimbatore Institute of Technology during 3^rd-4^th September 2010. About 70 delegates from academia and industry all over India participated in the workshop.

             The Chief Guest, Dr.V.Ramachandran, Professor, School of Information Science and Technology, Anna University, Chennai inaugurated the workshop on 03/09/2010 at 9AM.

          Technical sessions for the first day dealt with Fundamentals of Distributed Services, Introduction to RMI, On-Demand RMI Activation, and Advanced Concepts in RMI, all the topics covered with live applications. Second day sessions demonstrated the Development and Deployment of Web services in AXIS2 and JAX-RPC platforms, and Hosting Web Services in Clouds.

           This workshop created a good platform for the participants intend to advance their research work in Web Services and Cloud Computing domains.  With hands-on demos, audience had a nice feast for their knowledge hunger. 

The workshop was concluded with valedictory function on 04/09/2010 at 6 PM and certificates were distributed to the participants.
