IBM HPC Roadshow

8^th  – 9^th April 2011

(in collaboration with CIT and Dassault Systemes)

             IBM  HPC Roadshow was organized by Coimbatore Institute of Technology during 8^th - 9^th April 2011. 260 delegates from academia and industry  participated  in the Roadshow.

The Chief Guest, Dr.S.R.K. Prasad, Correspondent, CIT Institutions, Coimbatore inaugurated the Roadshow on 08/04/2011 at 9.30AM.

             Dr.V.Ramachandran, Professor, School of Information Science and Technology, Anna University, Chennai and Experts from IBM presented the keynote sessions on  High Performance Computing .

  On the first day, Technical sessions focused  on  HPC in Engineering – Scalability and Performance, Cloud Computing – IBM HPC cloud, HPC in CAE Applications. Second day sessions demonstrated Hybrid and Parallel Programming and HPC in CAE applications.

           This HPC Roadshow created a awareness among  the participants intended to work  in HPC and Cloud Computing domains.  The  hands-on demos, paper presentations and poster presentations were  eye-opener for the audience about HPC and Cloud Computing.

               Demos by  M.Sc(Software Engineering), MCA and M.Sc(CT) students of CIT of their work on Virtualization and Cloud Computing  were appreciated by all the participants.

 The Roadshow was concluded with valedictory function on 09/04/2011 at 5 PM and certificates were distributed to the participants.

 Mementos, certificates and  cash prizes were awarded  to the winners.
