JULY 2-3, 2010

The National Conference on COMMUNICATION, NETWORKING AND COMPUTING was conducted by the Electronics and Communication Engineering department of Coimbatore Institute of Technology, Coimbatore during july 2^nd & 3^rd , 2010. This National Conference was sponsored by CSIR, catalyzed and supported by TAMILNADU STATE COUNCIL FOR SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY, GOVT. OF TAMILNADU, IETE Coimbatore Centre, AGILENT TECHNOLOGIES, SINETEC, INFOTEC, I square in association with BENCHMARK and VI MICROSYSTEMS.

On July 2^nd 2010, the National Conference was Inaugurated by Shri. J.Subramanian, Vice President (Engineering), Aricent, who is a renowned Alumni of ECE of CIT.

The day one began with 2 Keynote Lectures followed by 2 Sessions of paper presentation.

The KEYNOTE LECTURE 1 was given by Shri. J.Subramanian, Vice President (Engineering), Aricent on the topic, “The History and Future of Evolution in Communications, Computing and Networking – A Perspective to the Student Community”. It outlined the status of technologies and usage during various periods, since the development of telephonic and data communication.

The Session 1 dealt with NETWORKING papers, which consisted of 9 papers. The CHAIR PERSON and CO-CHAIR for the Session I were CHAIR : Vimal Kumar Maria (Director – Technology), ARICENT, Banglore

The KEYNOTE LECTURE 2 was given by Shri. Vimal Kumar Maria, Director (Technology), Aricent on the topic, “The Transformation of Mobile Networks”. His presentation neatly explained about the convergence in Mobile Networks and the current standards and challenges.

The KEYNOTE LECTURE 3 was given by Shmt. Sandhya Ravikumar, Asst. Vice President (Engineering), Aricent on the topic, “The mobile communication growth explosion”. It outlined the growth of mobile communication and the recent trends in its growth.

The Session II dealt with COMMUNICATION papers, which consisted of 9 papers. The CHAIR and CO-CHAIR PERSONS for the Session II were CHAIR : J.Subramanian (VP - Engineering), ARICENT, Bangalore

The first day finally ended with the Panel Discussion on “Convergence on Communication, Networking and Computing”. The members for the panel during the Panel Discussion were

The KEYNOTE LECTURE 4 was given by Shri. Gridharan V.G, Director, Yugae Technologies Pvt., Ltd. on the topic, “Advances in Communication and Computing Technologies", who is a renowned Alumni of ECE of CIT.

The Session III dealt with COMPUTING papers, which consists of 9 papers. The CHAIR and CO-CHAIR PERSONS for the Session III were CHAIR : Gridharan.V.G, Director, Yugae Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore
CO-CHAIR: Mr. Vetriselvam Gopal, Engineer, Cisco Systems (India) Private Limited, Chennai

The second day finally ended with the valedictory function. The chief guest for the function was Gridharan.V.G, Director, Yugae Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore.
